Frontier cooperation of Russia, China and Mongolia.

On On August 19-20, 2010 VI Joint Forum of the CCI of Russia, China and Mongolia was held in Novosibirsk.

The event was organized on behalf of the Siberian CCI Forum by Novosibirsk City Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The Forum brought together over 100 delegates.

Russian side was presented by Vice-President of the CCI of Russia Georgy Perov, Chairman of the Siberian CCI Forum, president of the CCI of the Republic of Khakasia Serge Adamyan, leaders of eight Chambers and also representatives of the Government of the Novosibirsk Region, Plenipotentiary Representative of the President in the SFD and others.

The Chinese side was represented by Vice-Chairman of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (Central CCI) Dong Songgen, Consul of China on Trade and Economic Affairs in Ekaterinburg Liu Hongyue, heads of 6 Chinese Chambers of Liaoning, Guangdong, Gansu, Harbin, Sindzyan Uygur Autonomous Republic , AR Inner Mongolia and their branches. Mongolian side was headed by the Chairman of the National Chamber of Commerce and Industry Sambuu Demberel.

The special format of the event was given by participation of the business representatives of Siberia and China.

The central theme of the agenda was the development of frontier cooperation and foreign economic relations of Russia, China and Mongolia.

How to make a breakthrough in trilateral economic relations, how to intensify cooperation between the regions of the three countries and what kind of role in this whole process should take the Chambers of Commerce and Industry – participants of the plenary session of the Forum raised these and other questions.

One of the main outcomes of the Forum was the signing of the Memorandum, which reflects the main proposals made at the plenary session.

In addition, during the Forum several agreements on cooperation between the territorial CCI of Russia, China and Mongolia were signed. The participants of the Forum met with the Assistant of the President Plenipotentiary in the Siberian Federal District, Valery Popov, First Deputy Governor - Chairman of the Government of the Novosibirsk region Vasily Yurchenko. Business negotiations were conducted between Russian and Chinese companies.

Novosibirsk and the Belgian Flanders are ready to expand cooperation.

On May 31 - June, 1st, 2010 the delegation of official and business circles of Belgium headed by the Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Kingdom of Belgium in the Russian Federation Mr. Gi Truverua visited Novosibirsk.

Within two days the guests from Belgium met with business community of Novosibirsk, the governor of the Novosibirsk region, the mayor of Novosibirsk, visited some Novosibirsk enterprises, held the presentation of Flemish region. The sated program of the visit has been organized by the Trade mission of Flemish region at Embassy of Belgium, the Novosibirsk City Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the administration of the Novosibirsk region.

The business negotiations of Novosibirsk and Belgian businessmen organized by the Novosibirsk City Chamber of Commerce and Industry became the important part of visit to the capital of Siberia.

Business circles of Belgium were presented by 13 companies-manufacturers of the projective equipment, lighting systems, generators and exhaust gas coppers, the logistical companies, suppliers of fresh fruits and vegetables, the equipment for the food-processing industry, software developers for virtual modelling, nursery forests, etc.

Interests of the Novosibirsk party represented about 70 enterprises of various directions of activity: the food-processing industry, trade, science, formation, logistics and transport, landscape designing, the companies of IT sphere, etc.

The Novosibirsk City Chamber of Commerce and Industry summarized the results of business talks: there were over 135 business meetings, about 93 per cent of them proved to be effective.

Both parties have pointed out high level of interest in cooperation.

German business offers for Novosibirsk health care services.

On May 20, 2010 within the framework of the exhibition MEDSIB 2010 German and Novosibirsk health care organizations held business negotiatons. The main goal of the meetings was to present new German health care projects and to establish bilateral cooperation.

The event was organized by the Novosibirsk represantive of the Russian-German Chamber of Foreign Commerce and the Novosibirsk City CCI. Top managers and specialists of more than 20 health care organizations participated in the business meetings from the Russian part (over 45 meetings).

Business delegation from Finland

On April, 8-9, 2010 a major business delegation from Finland headed by the Minister of Foreign Trade and Development Mr. Paavo Vayrynen visited Novosibirsk. The visit was organized by the Novosibirsk City Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Finnish-Russian Chamber of Commerce.

The officials met with top representatives of the administration of the region and of the city, research institutes of the Siberian Department of the Russian Academy of Science, techno-park of the Academcity, associations of entrepreneurs.

On April, 8 Finnish entrepreneurs had negotiations with the representatives of Novosibirsk companies. The business part of the delegation was represented by 9 companies, among them: logistic, marketing, IT companies, producers of hardware, tubing, etc. According to preliminary results more than 50 per cent of Novosibirsk companies found business partners.

Taiwan and Novosibirsk are aimed at trade cooperation

On December 17, 2009 the Chairman of the NC CCI Directorate Vladimir Zhenov and the President of the Chamber Yury Bernadsky met with the Director of Taiwan Trade Center in Moscow Mr. Jack Cheng.

The Center acts as a commercial mission in Russia. Among its goals there are the strengthening of direct partner relations, the assistance to cooperation and trade development, the organization of business missions, etc. During the talks the parties discussed the forthcoming trade mission of Taiwanese entrepreneurs to Novosibirsk in May 2010.

Japan plans to stir up foreign trade links with Novosibirsk

On December 14, 2009 at the NC CCI office the President of the Chamber Yury Bernadsky met with the Chief Director of Japan External Trade Organization “Jetro Toyama” Mr. Kunihiko Nukui.

In conditions of the economic crisis, the volumes of foreign trade in Japan reduced. So the main goal today is to activate cooperation with neighbor countries. Within the framework of the visit the guests from Japan study the demands and supply of the Novosibirsk region. During the negotiations in the NC CCI the parties defined the major ways of mutually beneficial cooperation.

Perspectives of Novosibirsk-Belgian cooperation

On November 30, 2009, the president of the NC CCI Yuri Bernadsky met with representatives of Embassy of Belgium Mr. Andre De Reik and Mr. Andrey Emelyanov. The purpose of the guests’visit to the Chamber is to prepare for forthcoming business mission of Belgian entrepreneurs to Novosibirsk which take place next year in June. The president of the NC CCI told about regional economy and the parties determined the possible spheres for mutual cooperation between businessmen of Belgium and the Novosibirsk region.

Presentation of infrared heating systems

On November 19-22 the NC CCI, the administration of the Novosibirsk region and the Russian Center of Science and Culture in Prague held an exhibition “The Days of Siberia in the Czech Republic”. The exhibition shew the cultural and economic potential of the region to partners. The major event of the Days of Siberia in the Czech Republic was an exhibition of handicraft products of Siberia.

During the visit the Vice-President of the NC CCI Tatyana Bernadskaya met with the director of the Czech Chamber of Commerce for CIS countries Mr Frantisek Masopust. The parties agreed to exchange delegations in 2010.

Presentation of infrared heating systems

On September 30, 2009 the Novosibirsk City CCI and CJSC Sibschwank held a presentation “Efficiency and advantages of infrared systems of heating”. The representatives of more than 20 Siberian companies - top managers, power engineering specialists and engineers - participated in the presentation.

CJSC Sibschwank is a joint German-Russian company, which produces gas infrared radiators for using in heating systems of working areas and buildings. Its products are very urgent now because of the economic crisis and cost reduction. It allows to cut down significantly costs on heating.

Cooperation with Bulgaria will broaden in all spheres of economy

On September 29, 2009 at the Consulate of Bulgaria in Novosibirsk the president of the NC CCI Yury Bernadsky met with the Counsellor of the service of the trade and economic affaires of the Consulate Mr. Ylyan Tsonev and the General Consul of Bulgaria Mr. Plamen Stoyanov.

In the trade turnover of the Novosibirsk region the Republic of Bulgaria takes one of the key places. The turnover is represented mostly by export deliveries of Novosibirsk enterprises (high tech products). The Bulgarian part provides travel services, exports wines.

In February, 2010 it is planned to hold the Days of Bulgaria in Novosibirsk. The NC CCI will be one of co-organizators of the arrangement.

Development of the Novosibirsk-Czech cooperation

On September 25, 2009 the Chairman of the NC CCI Directorate Vladimir Zhenov and the president of the NC CCI Yury Bernadsky met with the representative of the Assosiation of Russian Regional Banks in the Czech Republic and EU countries Igor Borisov.

Within the framework of the meeting the participants discussed a range of urgent topics on Russian-Czech trade, industrial and scientific cooperation, development of interregional contacts.

The Czech Republic is a traditional trade partner of Russia but it takes only 1.4 per cent of the total foreign trade turnover of Russia. The parties planned a number of arrangements to stimulate bilateral cooperation.

Presentation of the Central Asian International Export Exhibition

On July 9, 2009 the presentation of the Central Asian International Export Exhibition took place in Novosibirsk. The exhibition will be held in the city of Inin (China) on September 4-7, 2009.

A major delegation of organizators of the arrangement and officials from China came to Novosibirsk to tell about the coming exhibition. About 150 top managers and representatives of the Novosibirsk enterprises participated in the presentation. Tha main sections of the exhibition will be construction materials and machines, ceramics, automobiles, sanitary engineering, etc. The total exhibition area will amount 38 000 square metres.

Presentation of the Russian-Arab Business Council in Novosibirsk

On June 26, 2009 the Russian-Arab Business Council (RABC) held a presentation of its activities in Novosibirsk, one of co-organizators was the NC CCI. More than 20 Novosibirsk companies took part in the presentation. The RABC was represented by deputy director Vladislav Lutsenko and deputy chairman Valery Kononenko.

The main mission of the Council is to assist the development of trade cooperation between entrepreneurs of Russia and the Arab countries. During the presentation the participants got the information about major activities of the RABC, including the most perspective ones – obtaining of Arab investments to Russia and organization of congresses and exhibitions.

Meeting with the Minister of Commerce of Thai Kingdom Embassy to the Russia

On June 18, 2009 the president of the Novosibirsk City CCI Yury Bernadsky met with the Minister of Commerce of Thai Kingdom Embassy to the Russia Mr. Pasit Poomchusri.

Russia is a long-standing trade partner of Thailand. But only recently bilateral cooperation began to develop in a faster way. In 2008 the volume of export from Thailand to Russia amounted $ 1 956 000, the volume of import – $ 2 800 000. Within tha structure of export are autospares, plastics, electronic equipment, food, etc. The goods for import to Thailand are oil, steel, fertiles, aluminium.

Mr. Poomchusri’s main aim is to help companies of both countries to establish trade links, to assist Russian companies in entering directly to the Thai market.

Development of economic cooperation of the Novosibirsk region with Switzerland

On May 3-9, 2009 the Novosibirsk delegation headed by the Governor of the region Victor Tolokonsky paid an official visit to the Swiss Confederation. The NC CCI was represented by its vice-president Tatyana Bernadskaya.

One was the most important goal of the visit was to hold a presentation of trade, research and investment potential of the Novosibirsk region, which took place at the government of the canton of Zurich.

Nowdays the part of Switzerland in foreign trade turnover of the Novosibirsk region remains minor and amounts under 1 per cent. So it’s necessary to stir up bilateral cooperation in all spheres of economy.

Within the framework of the visit the parties signed a joint declaration on principles of cooperation between the canton of Zurich and the Novosibirsk region. The members of Novosibirsk delegation held individual business talks with their Swiss partners, visited two large Swiss enterprises.

The results of business talks of Novosibrsk and Swiss businessmen say about good perspectives in the development of long-term partnership, the strengthening of trade contacts and the effectiveness of business projects.

Meeting with the delegation from Norway

On May 21, 2009 the vice-president of the Novosibirsk City CCI Tatyana Bernadskaya met with the representatives of Norwegian corporation INNOVATION NORWAY and the Norwegian-Russian Chamber of Commerce.

The main aim of our guests from Norway was to know more about trade and research potential of Novosibirsk, to get the information about innovative enterprises.

INNOVATION NORWAY is a state organization which helps to develop and support Norwegian business locally and abroad. One of its activities is the management over the Russian, CIS and Balkan investment fonds by investing.

The most perspective ways of bilateral cooperation between Novosibirsk and Norway are oil output, oil- and gas-producing equipment deliveries, fishing, etc.

Business meeting of Novosibirsk and Bulgarian entrepreneurs

On April 13, 2009 at the NC CCI the Novosibirsk businessmen met with a delegation of official and business circles of Bulgaria headed by the Governor of the Shumen region Mr.Todor Todorov. The Bulgarian part was represented by 20 companies of different spheres: building, tourism, wine-making, education, furniture production, public health, etc. From the Russian part there were over 15 representatives of enterprises. Entrepreneurs of Novosibirsk and Bulgaria discussed the perspectives of mutually beneficial cooperation and realization of joint projects.

Discussion of bilateral cooperation perspectives with the Ambassador of Belgium

On April 6, 2009 the President of the Novosibirsk City CCI Yury Bernadsky met with the Ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of Belgium to Russia Mr. Bertran de Krombrugge. The meeting was held within the framework of the official visit of the Ambassador to the Novosibirsk region. During the talks the parties discussed the issues of development of bilateral trade and economic contacts, the perspectives of mutual business cooperation. Mr. De Krombrugge is interested in holding of the Days of Belgian economy in Novosibirsk. In the nearest future he plans to organize a business visit of the Belgian entrepreneurs to our city to meet with top managers of the Novosibirsk companies.

Cooperation exchange with the French company Leroy Merlin

On March 4, 2009 the Siberian entrepreneurs and the French company Leroy Merlin had a cooperation exchange. The event was organized by the Novosibirsk City Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Association of Graduates of the President’s program “Leader-Resource” and Logic Tour Co Ltd.

More than 100 Novosibirsk companies participated in the cooperation exchange. Among them are producers of construction materials, water systems, millwork, electrical products, floor covering, colors, etc. and companies providing associated services.

In the opinion of representatives of the Novosibirsk business circles this form of organization of business contacts with foreign companies will considerably enliven perspective sectors of the Siberian economy.
 

Meeting with the Consul General of Germany in Novosibirsk

On January, 16, 2009 the President of the Novosibirsk City CCI Yury I. Bernadsky and the President of Inter-regional Business Association of Siberia Anatoly K.Masalov met with the Consul General of Germany in Novosibirsk Mr. Mikhael Kantzler with the participation of Consul Attaché Ms. Katrin Hesse.
The main subject was the further broadening of cooperation between the German and Novosibirsk enterprises.
Germany is one of the major strategic partners of the Novosibirsk region. Two parties are tied with decades of strong economic, trade, scientific and technical cooperation. Over 100 Novosibirsk companies and scientific organizations have firm business links with German partners.
During the talks the participants pointed out that annual meetings of business circles of the Novosibirsk region and Gemany have become a good tradition. The NC CCI in cooperation with the administration of the region organizes business trips to Germany, holds the Days of German economy in Novosibirsk.
In February 2009 a large group of German businessmen comes to “STROYSIB” exhibition, where the Chamber is an organizator of several business meetings. In March the Ambassador of Germany to Russia plans to visit Novosibirsk. In April the Novosibirsk City CCI with the Novosibirsk branch of the Russian-German foreign-trade chamber plans to pursue a theme seminar on the assistance in promotion of goods and services of the Novosibirsk enterprises to the German markets.
Finally the parties came to agreement to form a joint plan of business fora in Novosibirsk and Germany.
